Melaka Sentral Step by Step Station Guide
Melaka Sentral is the main bus terminal in Malacca, serving as the gateway for travelers heading to and from this historic UNESCO World Heritage city. Located between the city centre and the Ayer Keroh toll road, the terminal connects Malacca with major cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Penang, and Singapore through various long-distance bus operators.
The terminal is designed in a semi-open layout with separate sections for intercity buses and local stage buses, making transfers simple for both tourists and daily commuters. Read on for our step-by-step guide on how to navigate Melaka Sentral, purchase the right ticket, and find your boarding platform for the next leg of your journey.
Getting to Melaka Sentral
The Melaka Sentral station is located along the AMJ Highway, a major highway running across Melaka.

An elaborate skybridge with a traditional pointed roof design can be seen nearby that allows pedestrian access from across the highway to Melaka Sentral. A Lotus's Supermarket can also be seen across the highway nearby.

Entrances at Melaka Sentral
Melaka Sentral has 2 main entrances. The primary southward facing entrance faces the AMJ Highway and connects to the public carpark.

On the opposite end of the building, the 2nd entrance northward facing entrance can be found. This entrance is the taxi service entrance where you are able to get a taxi.

Station Layout
While fairly large, the station only has one ground floor. All boarding and disembarking of buses happen on this floor along with any ticketing counters or machines.

The station also contains many businesses such as restaurants and many shops selling various wares such as phone accessories, luggage, clothing and shoes. There are various amenities found on this floor:
- Restaurants such as McDonalds
- Convenience Stores such as Family Mart
- Money Changer
- Washrooms and Prayer Rooms

You can access both Intercity and Domestic Bus Services from the center concourse of Melaka Sentral. The center concourse is in the middle of the building, and can be identified by the AA Mart.
