We first travelled from Bern to Lucerne on Interregio 2519 and then took the Lucerne-Interlaken Express 2932 from there. It's not the most direct route, but the great views and a flying visit to Lucerne make up for it! It took us an hour from Bern to Lucerne and then an hour and fifty minutes from Lucerne to Interlaken. The trains were typically punctual in Switzerland. Travelling in first class is extremely comfortable, there is plenty of space and you don't need to reserve a seat. The train from Lucerne to Interlaken also has panoramic windows from which you can enjoy the scenery. The toilets were clean and the staff were friendly. It's just a shame that there was no wifi on the train.
Advantages
IconPunctuality

IconSoft seats
Disadvantages
IconBern railway station confusing
I travelled on time from Bern to Interlaken West on the IC 977 in just 47 minutes. I found the partly underground railway station in Bern very spacious and confusing, but I really liked it on the train. With my Interrail ticket, I took a seat in 1st class in a single-decker carriage. There is more space there and the fabric seats are very soft and can be adjusted. The view of Lake Thun, which we could see for most of the journey, was fantastic. The cleanliness and friendliness of the conductor were also excellent.
Advantages
IconComfortable seats with full equipment
IconNo changeover
IconClean train
Disadvantages
IconDirty toilets
IconLoud and full
IconDelay of 5 minutes
IconNo staff and no connection information
The journey from Bern to Interlaken only took an hour with a 5-minute delay. The train was relatively full, so it was noisy. The seats were comfortable and there were power sockets and wifi. The train was relatively clean, but the toilets were very dirty. I also didn't encounter any staff during the journey and there were no announcements for connections. The journey could definitely have been better. At least I didn't have to change trains.
