The reason for my journey was to visit my old friends. In order to have as much time as possible in Hamburg, I decided to book the earliest train. The train left on time at 04:13 and after only 5 hours and 40 minutes I was already in Hamburg for just €13.40. I slept most of the way. I personally don't use the on-board bistro as it's too expensive for me, but it's definitely useful for anyone who feels suddenly hungry or thirsty.

Improvements in journey time, service and maintenance would be urgently needed to make the journey more appealing for me and other passengers. On the other hand, I will no longer be able to travel long distances by train.

Instead of long car journeys or short-haul flights, I always prefer to take the train, as it's cheaper and also less stressful if the train is on time, as you save yourself either traffic jams or stress at the airport. Fittingly, this happened during the holidays and the train was already full to the end anyway. The service was more or less poor, but there is nothing negative to say about it

What I also have to say is that I didn't have to change trains once. My seat was actually quite comfortable, but after such a long journey, my back does ache at some point. What I did miss was functioning wifi. All in all, a pretty good journey
